Unicorn Sugar Coma

If Chrissy Teigen makes this for her kids, it's good enough for mine, right? I got this from her third cookbook, Cravings: All Together. And if you haven't picked up one of her cookbooks, do yourself a favor and grab one if you need a laugh. She promises this recipe will put your kids into a "birthday-party-sugar-coma six-hour sleep so youuuuuuu are welcome." Sign me the heck up!

4 cups whole milk (or whatever milk you're into these days)

1 3.4-ounce package of instant vanilla pudding

Pinch of kosher salt

Assorted colors of fine sanding sugar

1 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

2 tablespoons corn syrup

I'm not gonna lie, this took a lot of effort for a milkshake, but I think you'll see by the look on my miniature taste tester's face, it was absolutely worth it. You mix the milk, pudding, and salt in a pitcher and refrigerate until you get your glasses ready.

The recipe calls for you to make a colored whipped cream next, but as I'm a lady with a job, a husband, a kid, several pets, and plants that all depend on me, I opted for the spray whipped cream out of the can. So, we skipped along to the preparation of the glasses.

To prep the glasses, you paint strips of corn syrup inside the glass and sprinkle each strip with a different colored sugar. This part is genius! It's tedious, but it really gives the milkshake its "magic". Make sure you do this in a clear glass so you can see all the colors.

The final step is to fill the glass with the milkshake mixture, spray some whipped cream on it, and top with whatever sprinkles you like (or that you've had in the back of your pantry for a few years).

Final rating: "Mommy we should make these every week!" Super. If you need me I'll be online shopping for more colors of sugar. I guess I can't complain too much, it did induce the sugar coma as advertised.
